Print Press

A good match is often what we seek in great style...besides in life, haha! One of the most notorious in the fashion faux pas list is matching prints with prints because balance comes essential in anything. However, later years have shown that there is actually room for a little bit of off-balancing every now and then, here and there, and now, everywhere! This means that prints on prints have proven to be not just an appropriate but a good matching or styling technique!

Wearing print on print outfits can become very tricky and challenging, however. Balance stays in the picture. It takes the right amount of busyness, contrast, etc. to achieve that flawless print-on-print look. Still, comfort, creativity, and confidence is all you really need, as it is you who actually make and break these "rules" that one should never limit himself to...

Apparently, two prints and one faux pas was just not enough. Ever heard of the "rule" saying not to wear brown and black together? Whoever made this "rule" probably didn't look much into the different loopholes that could manage to make black work with brown and vice versa. Dressing with numerous prints is not as tricky as it seems when the entirety of the ensemble comes from an obvious color scheme. Also, with a couple blacks and browns distributed here and there, it was not as awkward as expected for the two colors to mix. For example, without the bag, the skirt would look out of place.

When in doubt whether the top and the bottom complements each other, choose an outfit that has the same pattern or color . One can never go wrong by matching peep toe pumps with shorts because it makes your legs look longer and thinner instantly as well. To project a sophisticated aura, don't forget your blings!

Okay, so who says print on print has limitations? As long as it complements each piece, there's no harm in experimenting. Surprise surprise, snakeskin prints go well together well with leaf-printed pieces. Balancing the wild (snakeskin) and the serene (leaf) element is one way we can accomplish this look. Comfy in culottes and airy in a spaghetti tank, complete the look with your trusty slip on slides.
