New Japanese Food to Love

Japanese cuisine lovers rejoice! The same owners who brought you Mango Tree, Genki Sushi, Cocina Peruvia, and Kureji has opened their first branch of Sen-ryo in the Philippines at the Ground Level of The Podium Mall. We were lucky enough to experience their luxe yet relaxed atmosphere while dining, tasted some of their signature dishes, and wanting some more right now!

Sen-ryo is a premium sushi concept from Tokyo, which strives to offer authentic Japanese fare combining the freshest ingredients, traditional techniques, and modern technology to deliver the culinary mastery and sushi-making artistry that the brand has become so well-known for around the world. Only the freshest ingredient flown from Japan are used to prepare each Sen-ryo dish with the utmost care, passion, and artistry of the Japanese chefs.

Here are the dishes we got to taste:

1. Ebi Popcorn (fried nobashi shrimp tossed in mayo mix)

This appetizer is super good. One of our recommendations!

2. Wagyu Foie Gras (wagyu beef striploin nigiri with duck liver)

Look at how incredibly tender the beef is! This is also one of our faves because of it's rich flavor, a perfect mix of the meat and duck liver.

3. Garlic Butter Salmon (grilled Norwegian salmon with garlic butter sauce)

Well, for those salmon lovers, you can't go wrong with grilled salmon in mouthwatering garlic butter sauce.

4. Botan Shrimp (premium sweet shrimp nigiri)

We just learned about this kind of shrimp during our visit to Sen-ryo. Not bad! But if you're someone who doesn't like raw food, maybe not gonna be a pick for you.

5. Sen-ryo Omelette (traditional Japanese folded egg)

Need we say more? This omelette is so juicy! And look at that branding on each piece.

6. Shogun Roll (shaped like a shogun helmet, this roll is topped with fried lotus and fried shrimp)

This is also a recommended dish for the first timers out there! You'll never go wrong with sushi rolls. You'll never go hungry too!

7. Wagyu Beef Yakiudon (stir-fried udon noodles with wagyu beef striploin)

Something savory for the palette. There are more selections of noodle dishes from their menu.

8. Dessert (L-R): Apple Jelly, Mt. Fuji Jelly, Ohagi Mochi

Of course, we can't forget about dessert. You'll just have to try them out yourselves!

Hope you enjoyed this post!

Much love,
Candis & Daphne
