3 Fitness Classes To Try With Your Friends

If workouts are the worst part of your day, you're probably missing the most essential fitness prop: company. To make exercise more tolerable, and maybe even fun, workout with your friends! Maybe you enjoy an occasional long run by yourself or perhaps you like cycling solo, but that doesn’t mean there’s no room for friends in your workout routine. In fact, if you’re trying to make exercise a habit or you’re hoping to hit a specific goal, a friend could be a big help. You’re far more likely to actually workout when you’re forced to schedule it ahead of time and canceling means inconveniencing a friend. In addition to keeping you accountable, friends can provide an extra boost of motivation when it gets tough. Everyone has those days when they just don’t feel like going to the gym and those times when they want to call it quits, friends can offer encouragement to keep you going. Friends can teach you new exercises or circuits and they can point out things you might be doing wrong.

When you take into account all the listed benefits that friends bring to your workout routine, it’s not hard to see that you’ll be able to reach your goals more quickly. And more importantly, with friends anything just instantly becomes fun! We went to three (3) different fitness classes and we can definitely attest to how the added accountability, competition and fun that friends bring to exercise can keep us motivated. Today, we'd like to share them with you and hopefully help you see the fun in fitness, especially when you bring your #PoshSquad along!

1. Trampoline Park

The first place we were lucky enough to try (thanks to Ia, co-founder of Fit Access PH!) was Trampoline Park. It's for those who want to feel like a kid again and have a fun workout at the same time. It's perfect for those who want to not feel the workout when working out, since you are having fun! At the same time, you really (and we mean really) get your dose of cardio for the day! They offer many different kinds of activities (e.g. parkour, basketball, etc.) that make use of their trampolines!


2. Archery Academy

The next activity we tried was archery at The Archery Academy. This is perfect for those who want to unleash their inner Katniss Everdeen or Green Arrow in you! You might ask, is archery even considered an exercise? Most people think that archery is all about the arms, but the truth is, your whole body is engaged. It is also very important that you keep your core tight. We were all first-timers, and if you haven't tried archery, we suggest you do (with your friends *wink)!


3. LiFE Yoga
We also had the opportunity to try LiFE Yoga, finally! We've been wanting to attend classes at LiFE but haven't had the chance to. And here we are! The everyday hustle and bustle of the metro called for a home where people can escape to and focus on themselves. As a mind-body-spirit practice that can profoundly impact one’s sense of self and wellbeing, yoga. LiFE takes a holistic approach to wellness by integrating good food, music, art and a sense of community into the practice of yoga. LiFE wants to meaningfully innovate in the budding culture of yoga in the Philippines. It aims to bring the physical, mental and spiritual benefits of yoga off the mat and into facets of everyday life. LiFE is about the mindful celebration of all that is happening in the here and now. Yoga is life. Haha!

Of course, we cannot forget about filling our stomachs with solids before we get into our workout. Sometimes when we can't do it on our own, a little help is all we need. In doing so, they’ve helped us ease through the shift to healthier eating habits with controlled meal portions that are sparsely seasoned yet satisfying.
