Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair: A Comparison

Did you know that Estee Lauder's ANR Serum has already been in the market for 38 years? The formula has been updated 4 times already since it launched in 1982. This brown bottle is an anti-ageing staple that works its magic overnight during the hours where your natural skin recovery is at its peak. It claims to reduce fine lines, wrinkles and uneven skin tone, and add radiance to your skin. So what is Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Multi-Complex and how is it different from Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex II?

"Backed by an unprecedented new discovery in the scientific field of Epigenetics, Estée Lauder introduces the revolutionary new Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Multi-Recovery Complex. With breakthrough new Chronolux TM Power Signal Technology, new Advanced Night Repair now supports skin's natural repair more effectively than ever, and for the first time, helps skin increase its natural renewal of fresh new cells and production of collagen for firmer skin. Advanced Night Repair absorbs fast as it works to reduce the look of multiple signs of aging and helps protect skin from the environmental assaults of modern life. After one dropper skin looks radiant and plumped with hydration, after just three weeks lines appear reduced, and after one bottle skin feels firmer and looks healthy, younger, with new bounce and vitality." - Estee Lauder

To find out what's new and whether it has improved, we've got our hands on a bottle of the new Synchronised Multi-recovery Complex and of its previous formula, Synchronised Recovery Complex II, and tested them head to head.

The original formula used technology that claimed to support the synchronisation of the skin's renewal process, helping it repair at the right time. The new formula maintains these abilities, but the brand has added Adansonia Digitata seed extract, which boosts the production of collagen and improves skin elasticity leaving your skin smooth and firm. Also, the New Advanced Night Repair can renew our skin 25% faster than the previous formulation which means that it can defend our skin against environmental assaults quickly.

The texture of the serum remains almost the same. It is fairly thick but lightweight. The only barely perceptible difference we found between the two is that the new formula leaves no tackiness since it's more watery, whereas with the former we experienced a little stickiness. Both feel cooling, soothing, and moisturising on the skin, which is exactly what our tired and dehydrated skin wants at the end of the day.

We tried the Heart Ritual Technique when we apply the product. Just as the photo above shows, you massage the face using all fingers, starting at the center of your face and glide onto the sides of face down under chin. Then trace a larger heart from middle forehead out to temples and glide down the sides of the face then under your chin. Don't forget the neck!

After testing the new ANR, we can see that our skin seems to be glowing all day. It looks like we have a natural highlight all over our face. Aside from that, our skin also looks healthy and plump despite sleeping late and less than 8 hours due to watching K-dramas. In short, it looks like you've had a really good night's sleep, even when you haven't. What we love about the new ANR is that with ChronoluxCB Technology and Hyaluronic Acid working together, it results in a smoother, more hydrated and radiant complexion.

The bottom line is that while we can't see a vast difference between the new and old formulas, we're quite glad of that. The previous version was already so good it would be hard to improve upon.

Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Multi-Complex is available in 7ml at ₱1,015.00; 20ml at ₱2,850.00; 30ml at ₱4350.00; and 50ml at ₱6,200.00 on Lazada.

We hope you were able to get some tips!

Much love,
Candis & Daphne
