Run, Forrest, Run!

Ever had those mornings or afternoons that make you feel sluggish and lazy for no particular reason? Maybe it's your body trying to tell you to get in your running shoes and get sweating. Maintaining good health doesn't only manifest outward but also inward. It's important to get our heart rates up every now and then in order to always feel recharged and energized.

Fitness/Health: Run, Forrest, Run!

Today we decided to get our sweat on and show you how we go about it.

Muscle sprains are a no-no so stretching before any vigorous activity is a must. Make sure to stretch your whole body beginning from top to bottom. Running mostly requires the lower body working, but it's better to be sure than sorry, so try not to miss any bits.

Many times we tend to overlook what we wear when we exercise, but it's also important to wear the appropriate kind of gear when we go running to prevent injuries and to make our exercise more efficient. Besides, don't we all agree that choosing what to wear makes working out sound much more fun?

A few essential items to have when going for a run: a bottle/jug of water, hair elastic/clips/band, sunscreen (when the sun is out), towel. Make sure to also pick an ideal place and time. You don't want to go cruising through unpleasant sights and smells or getting burned by the high noon sun!

Here is a 15-30-minute cardio workout (HIIT: high intensity interval training) that will no doubt keep those lower bods toned and keep you burning (even when you're at rest!).

Walk for 2 minutes as a warmup.
Sprint for 30 seconds.
Walk for 1 minute.
Repeat sprint-walk for 9 rounds in order to finish 15 minutes.
Cool down with a 5-15-minute walk.

Now that you've got everything down, you're ready to go! Tell us about your running experiences if you did follow any of these tips! Stay in touch!
