SPF (Sleek, Playful, Fierce)

Yes, for lack of a better word or three, and for the sake of matching with the theme, we ended up with a title that says of 3 different styles and a sunshiny day because this post is all about 3 ways to wear yellow — not necessarily on a sunshiny day, but what better color to embody sunshine than yellow, right? Some colors have taken on a rep of their own and are seldom associated with another once that has taken place. Take gray as an example. When we wish to dress up on a day when we feel a tad more fun and adventurous, would gray be one of the immediate candidates for our selection of colors to wear? How about when we want to dress a bit more boyish, (not to imply on anything but just to be practically speaking) where does pink stand in our palette to choose from? Well, don't just throw them immediately at the end on the long list. With just the right combination of pieces, gray can be fun and adventurous, and pink can be just as worthy as blue to contribute to a boyish outfit.

So, how about yellow? Doesn't it look fun and happy? Maybe a little too fun and happy that it's now thought to be a loud color that ought to only be worn when in that loud vibe. Well, guess what? It's more flexible than you think and can also be worn when you want to dress simple or sleek (Candis), edgy or fierce (Daphne), and just playful or daring (Lauren). It's definitely recognizable that everyone has their own unique style. And instead of rocking the trends nowadays (e.g. nudes, monochromes, denim, etc.), we thought of styling a color that is never boring yet often ignored. Here are three different looks, ways, and styles to wear yellow...

A playful and daring outfit needs some balancing out too. Don't go overboard and reveal too much of what you're supposed to by finding out the perfect balance. As for this, a spaghetti-strapped midriff was paired with pants and even a jacket to maintain the sophistication of the yet playful and daring look.

For the sleek look, don't just go about simply pairing plains and solids on plains and solids. Try pairing a scallop top with a structured skirt to make your outfit classy, timeless, but still with flare. As seen in previous posts, most of my outfits consist of white skirts since they are a must-have in every girl's closet — especially for the too-lazy-to-match-an-outfit or playing-it-safe ones out there!

Do not ever doubt the instant effect of an outerwear. May it have a denim, leather, or sheer texture — it remains a staple in our wardrobes. How you style it is different from how others do, so don't worry about experimenting! We had very distinct styles with both of our jackets: one gives a chic, daring vibe while the other a comfy, edgy one.

Maybe you have a color that you've never incorporated in a certain style. Get creative and try it now for yourself! Until our next post!
