Sweet Tooth

Do you remember watching Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory, or Charlie & the Chocolate Factory for that matter, and wishing you could be one of those lucky children who found the golden ticket in the Wonka Bar? Did you ever get inspired to have a candy-land party when it became trendy a couple of years ago? Did you ever want to take Katy Perry's place and get all dressed up in candy costumes and get to lay on cotton-candy-pink clouds? We did. And we just might have been a little closer to making those dreams come to life when we did this shoot for today's pastel looks because what says candy-themed shoot more than pastel shades?

Pastels and candies: desaturation and saturation — makes for good complements, don't they?

The soft and milky feel of pastels has reserved a soft spot in our hearts. It gives a very dreamy effect that easily transports ourselves into...well, a dreamy place...

Playing with pastels is just as good as eating candy — the sky is the limit. Well, okay, maybe it isn't unless the thought of diabetes doesn't scare you. It's a given that any pastel shade would go well with another because they belong to the same color group, but some combos just complement each other a little better. Personally, I love the look of powder blue with baby pink. Emphasis was put on the latter by adding on something sparkly namely, in this case, a statement necklace.

Wearing same colors in one outfit but with a different shade gives an ombre feel. The skirt, compared to the top, has a darker tone which gives more emphasis to most people's assets, their legs.  To spice up the piece that has a duller tone, which is the top, grab a statement necklace to make it look lively and fun!

Think color-blocking is making its way out of today's fashion trends? I don't think so. Pastel color-blocking makes a look softer and more reserved. But of course, we don't wanna get too far with color-blocking! Pair the whole outfit with neutral colored shoes, and not to break the pastel rule, better get white ones.

So let out the sweet tooth in you and get your pastels on! You are, after all, what you eat. Hope you enjoyed today's post and drop by on our next!
