Watsons K-Beauty

What beauty trends have we been up to lately? Burgundy eye makeup, gradient lipstick, peachy blush, straight brows, seaweed and tea tree ingredients — name it all! Chances are that by now, you've spotted a cushion compact or a sheet mask from a known Western brand. That's right, K-beauty is disrupting the cosmetic brands out there!

Just when you thought you've had all the beauty innovations at your fingertips, Korea just had to come up with a whole new bunch of innovative skin care and makeup products. aka, BYE, WALLET.

We've recently got our hands on some products from Watson's K-beauty line. Scroll down for more beauty details!

If you guys aren't still aware, cleanser is an integral part to your skin care routine. Whether you are wearing make up or not, you should use it twice a day to remove the dirt inside your pores. We have tested these different kinds of cleansers from different brands to see which one is the best among them. In our opinion, Banila Co.'s cleansing balm is the most effective cleanser because not only does it remove makeup, but it also has a moisturizing effect on the skin. The coconut cleansing water and the cleansing towelettes are also great, but when we tried to remove our makeup using them, there were still some residue left on the skin.

Have you guys heard about AHA and BHA skin care products? It is an acid that acts as an exfoliant to your skin. Exfoliating is essential because it removes the dead skin cells on your face that can cause pimples, blackheads, whiteheads, and etc. AHA is best for dry skin since it has a moisturizing content and does not penetrate deep into the skin. While BHA is best for oily and acne prone skin as it penetrates deep into the skin which treats blackheads and whiteheads. When we tried it for three straight days, the result was amazing; however, some parts of the face tend to become dry so we suggest to use a face mist throughout the day in order to moisturize your skin. Also, note that the pad must only be used once a day.

We have seen and tried different face masks in the market, but it is our first time to encounter a blackhead mask wherein you will be the one to inject the solution into the sheet. Although it may feel stingy from tapping the mask time to time, we didn't experience negative reactions on the skin. The mask works to help brighten up the center of the face, reduce the size of pores on the nose as well as the surrounding areas, smooth out the skin, and minimize the size of blackheads, and skin elasticity. This does more than just pore tightening and pore cleansing since it also brightens up the dark area under the eyes. So, if you are having trouble with dark circles, this one product may seem to help out a bit. It also helps with blemishes and also whitens up the skin tone.

We know that you guys are probably thinking, "Face masks nanaman?" Well, K-beauty is not K-beauty without face masks! Among the face masks we've tried, our favorite would be the 23 Years Old Cocoon Willow Silky Mask. This one smells great, feels super silky and milky, and leaves the skin softer after use. One thing though, it has no mouth hole so it's kind of weird and hard to talk. Nevertheless, it did the job! The 23 Years Old Badecasil Dermaseal Mask gives off a strange scent, but it brightened up the skin when we took it off. On the other hand, The Mediheal Greenteatree Meshpeel Mask, with the effect of tea tree, dissolves skin oils and kills bacteria that can cause acne; however, we weren't able to see any difference since our skin isn't acne prone.
