What Are Your Makeup Struggles?

Hey, Posh Squad! We want to know your makeup struggles, because we know it's not just us who has experiences like these. Struggling putting on eyeliner? Your eye makeup looks off? Seems like your highlighter isn't enough? Or you couldn't figure out what color matches your lips? Yup, we feel the same. Today, we're here again to test out makeup products for you so you could have an idea on what you should get. And we're so happy and excited to say that we're reviewing products from one of our makeup dreams as a teenager!

Shaking up the local beauty scene yet again, Smashbox Cosmetics introduces a fresh selection of head-turners to the Philippine market. Bringing no less than a curated assemblage of pigment-packed beauty essentials, Smashbox fulfills the wishes of beauty junkies and makeup hoarders by officially launching the Always On Matte Liquid Lipsticks, Spotlight Palette, and Cover Shot Eye Palette.

Always On Matte Liquid Lipstick
Php 1250.00

Let's first talk about their new liquid lipsticks! We all love matte lipstick, and finding the right formula can be quite a challenge. We want a formula that can last you from day to night. This one gives you that 8-hour pout that is lip-smoothing too! After application it's matte but it feels velvety. When we wore it for a whole day, it was slightly drying if worn for more than 8 hours without reapplication. There was also slight color transfer and feels quite heavy on the lips. However, we loved its applicator because the product glides on smoothly.

Always On Matte Liquid Lipstick in Big Spender

This rose-toned lip color is a perfect mix of pink and nude, which is perfect for a lazy day look. The color makes you look flirty but still put together.

Always On Matte Liquid Lipstick in Miss Conduct

This warm red-meets-plum color may be out of most girls' comfort zone, but it actually makes your lips look fully and your smile look brighter.

Spotlight Palette in Pearl
Php 1,800.00

Well, let's talk about highlighter. Every girl must have a highlighting palette in their makeup stash, or a hundred! There's no "too much" when it comes to blinding people with highlighter! Each highlight shade of this palette boasts of a glow-from-within effect that adds effortless dimension wherever applied. We really love how much product you can have in just one swipe! You can even use these highlighter shades as a shimmer blush and eyeshadow. And the darker shade to pop up your collarbones!

Candis: I don't usually use highlighters since all shades are too white or light on me. But this one is perfect because it compliments my skin, and it also lasts all day unlike other brands I've tried.

Cover Shot Eye Palette in Ablaze
Php 1,500.00

If you're updated with the eyeshadow trends today, you've seen the burgundy, peach, coral, and bronze looks every beauty guru has come up with. This palette contains incandescent reds and browns inspired by the sear and scorch of the desert. Finally, we got our hands on this! These shades are perfect for everyday fresh looks using just one shade, and layer it for a night out. What we love about this is that it's super pigmented, has very nice color payoff, and easy to blend. Also, it's super compact for you to bring anywhere you go.

Daphne: I'm not really fond of playing with colors when it comes to eyeshadow. I only use one color for my eye looks. For me, I always struggle when using different shades and blending them out. But when I tried this particular palette, I've become obsessed.

Here are the looks we've come up with using these products.

Candis' look: Burgundy eye with rose-toned lips

Daphne's look: Bronze eye with warm red-plum lips

We're glad to say that these products from Smashbox leaves you with no struggle as they're easy to use and easy to blend. Super good investment 'cause it lasts a long time!
