What Products to Use for an Effortless Look

Do you believe that there is beauty in simplicity? Whether it's about your clothes, accessories, or your makeup, it all applies. Wearing a basic top with a neutral pair of trousers, minimal accessories, and light makeup that would accentuate your best features − these would totally make a perfect look already! If you're looking for makeup that's easy to use yet gives you that effortless and put together look, then read on! Because believe it or not, you don't need a lot to look beautiful.

In the latest celebrity-beauty brand collaboration, Kathryn Bernardo recently launched the makeup line she created with our local beauty favorite Happy Skin. They call it Generation Happy Skin, which speaks to a new breed of women who believe that good skin is a priority and who are after effortless, everyday makeup that allow them to showcase their truth. Kathryn goes for makeup that wouldn't look like changing her face, just highlighting her assets.

Generation Happy Skin includes 6 products enough for a full face look: a pressed powder, matte lippies, water tints, a powder blush, mascara, and a liquid brow pen. And since this collection is for a much younger market, it's made more affordable. They also made sure that the shades are flattering to every skin tone and skin type. According to Kathryn, the collection keeps women of all ages in mind, but especially women and teens who may have sensitive skin.

The My Lips But Better Ultra Matte Lippie (P399) comes in 5 colors that could work for both low-key or more dramatic looks. We love how the colors match with our actual lip color, hence the name. And similar to Happy Skin's matte lippies, these are hydrating and does not dry up the lips. We just noticed, though, that it does not stay long on the lips.

The Kiss & Bloom Water Lip & Cheek Tint (P299) is a long-lasting liquid tint that comes in 4 shades. The tint is highly pigmented with a natural watercolor finish. A little goes a long way and always make sure to blend for a natural finish. Our tip for this one: Apply the product on the back of your hand before applying on the cheeks since it could leave a mark when applied directly. But if you can blend it fast, then no problem applying directly! What we admire about this product is that it's buildable. You can use the tint first then put powder blush on top.

For those who prefer their pops of color in powder form, the collection also has the Instant Glow Longwear Powder Blushes (P499) in two shades: Freedom (bronze), and Love (pink). This gives a blendable, radiant-looking flush. Down side to this is that there is no brush that comes with it so you still have to carry a blush brush, even though the product is so compact.

The Perfect Brows Long-Lasting Liquid Pen (P399) comes in a universal brown color that creates fine strokes for a natural look. It has a sweat-proof formula, which is great! You don't have to worry about smudging your brows. We still need a lot of practice in using a liquid type of brow product, since this is harder to control.

Because Kathryn is apparently particular about her mascara, the collection also includes an Extra Drama Volumizing Mascara (P499). The formula promises to lift and volumize lashes without clumping. You can instantly achieve dramatic, yet natural-looking lashes. Upon trying this one out, we've notice that it tends to smear onto the undereye area.
