Celebrate Colors

Hello, 2016! And hello, everyone! Can't believe how fast time goes by! Feels like it was just yesterday that we had started blogging. As you might know we have not been updating for more then a month now, and we, Lauren, Candis, and Daphne, would like to send our sincerest apologies for having been MIA. Our hands got full with schoolwork, and hence time and such other resources to shoot and post weren't as available to us as they used to be. We've truly missed creating content for you and connecting with you! But now that we are back and now that we have learned better how to balance between the blog and our studies, we surely will try our best to update every week! And we are so very looking forward to it just as we look forward to greater opportunities and places full of blessings and love and joy this new year's open doors will lead us (including you, of course) to. So, how did you spend your New Year's? What are your hopes for 2016? Any New Year's resolutions?

We decided that the best way to welcome the next 366 days (or so) is an outfit post with Pantone's official colors of the year: Rose Quartz and Serenity. Doesn't everybody love pastel hues? We sure do! Pastel room colors, pastel notebooks, pastel sunnies, pastel everything! To see more of our pastel looks, check out one of our previous posts "Sweet Tooth." Pastel hues are just so pleasing to the eyes. They look so fresh, and who doesn't want to be looking fresh! So, here's our take on Rose Quartz and Serenity. What do you think about the two shades?

No, I will not dare choose between a rosy color and a periwinkly one any time of day because seriously, how? Each on its own gives off a powerful yet soft sense of beauty, as I imagine being clad in a plain pantsuit in Serenity or a terno in Rose Quartz and vice versa. Wow, I would very much like those. But together, when mixed strategically, pieces in these hues complement each other like peanut butter and jelly — none is better than the other. So, of course, while rummaging for clothes I managed to come across a floral top donning both hues. Immediately my Serenity-colored skirt came into mind. To top it off is a casual blazer in Rose Quartz. The top served to blend the look well into one. It didn't have to be much of a fuss to find what pairs well with what, as the colors almost finish up the entire job. For accessories, to counterbalance the softness is a pair of sharp-angled shield sunglasses.

In line with one of the official Pantone colors of 2016, I chose to wear solely the Rose Quartz color as I identify with it more. Using a rose quartz colored skirt creates a feminine and sophisticated outfit. It's all about the soft and rosy look! Pair a pantone colored skirt with a white top to make you look effortlessly classy, of course. Also, wearing a white top, which is versatile, enables you to look appropriate for any time of the day. Remember that you will never go wrong in white!

Of course you can wear a romper as it is! But if some of you want to spice things up a little, try layering a turtleneck under the romper. The turtleneck is one of the most versatile pieces that you can wear under pretty much anything. Turtleneck layering is a great way to tweak a basic outfit when you want to look like you made all the effort while making as little effort as possible. This trend has been seen all over Fashion Week F/W 2015. From slip dresses to winter wools, the turtleneck pops any outfit with a seasonless edge. No need to wait until the temperature hits above 30 degrees to rock your favorite sundress. Turtleneck layering brings style to your look, and at the same time, it keeps you warm. Nothing like a piece that says style and comfort!

Show us how you style this year's official Pantone colors! See you on our upcoming posts!
