10 Steps You Won't Sweat

We all know how important our skin care routines are and our nighttime skin care routine is of utmost importance since that's the time our cells repair and rebuild. Your nighttime routine can give huge effects on how your skin will look the next day! It turns out your body can do serious work for you while you sleep — you just have to give it a little push along the way.

Note: We are no beauty experts so we might have a different step on our routine.

Step 1: Makeup Remover / Oil Cleanser

In order to start getting ready for bed, you've got to get rid of all the makeup and dirt your skin had accumulated during the day. A cleansing towelette or an oil-based cleanser can make all your problems go away!

Step 2: Water-based Cleanser

Now, double-cleanse. You have to make sure that all the dirt is out! Using a water-based cleanser to wash your face sweeps away the residue left from your first cleanse and the remaining impurities with it. We suggest the Holika Holika 3 Second Starter Vita Complex for this step since it helps to calm and relieve irritated areas for a clearer complexion.

Step 3: Carbonated Clay Mask

The carbonated bubble clay mask is similar to your regular clay mask but better. It contains carbonated bubbles that provide gentle massaging properties to the pores. They help lift out oil and dirt from deep inside the pores. Elizavecca Milky Piggy is the popular brand for this type of mask.

Step 4: Toner

Time to prep your skin with toner! You can tap it directly onto your skin or dispense onto a facial wipe before gently swiping around your face outwards. Try the Nature Republic Aloe Vera toner. It's so moisturizing and soothing, providing hydration your skin needs.

Step 5: Chemical Exfoliant

Some may not have this step, or have exfoliated using a sugar-like scrub. COSRX AHA Whitehead Power Liquid is a chemical exfoliant that sweeps away pore-clogging debris and dead skin cells to reveal a smooth and refined skin texture. It works against skin issues like acne, dull skin, large pores, and fine lines.

Step 6: Essence

Essence is the heart of the Korean skin care routine. Essence is a kind of toner and serum hybrid made for hydrating and aiding skin repair and cell turnover. You can hit two birds with one stone with the COSRX Galactomyces Essence!

Step 7: Eye Cream

Be sure not to neglect your eyes! The skin around your eyes is the most delicate skin on your face and should be treated very carefully, with extra helpings of hydration and protection. Use your ring finger to very gently tap and never rub eye cream around the eyes. The Mizon Snail Repair Eye Cream is your ultimate go-to for eye cream!

Step 8: Moisturizer

Hydration is your express lane to dewy glowing skin. Finding a moisturizer that works for your skin type is a crucial step to protecting your skin. Morning and evening, pat moisturizer all over the face and neck to keep skin hydrated, sealing in all the work from your other steps. The Mizon Vita Lemon Calming Cream is definitely a must try!

Step 9: Sheet Mask

If essence is the heart of Korean skin care routine, the sheet mask is its soul. Sheet masks are done ideally twice a week, or more if your face is very dry. The secret to sheet masks? They force your skin to absorb the nutrients and moisture better than if you just applied a cream or serum. The immediate effects are addicting, after one use your face is slightly more plump and much brighter due to all the moisture your skin just absorbed. For this step, try the Nature Republic Sheet Mask.

Step 10: Sunscreen

Last but the most important one of all is sunscreen! Even if you're stepping outside for a few minutes, sunscreen is the best thing you can do to prevent aging. Apply every morning, then reapply throughout the day as needed. Missha Sun Milk's texture is very light and the formula absorbs quickly into the skin. It is not greasy, making it perfect to wear under makeup.

Hope you learned a thing or two and add some steps to your routine!
